Strategy + Storytelling

In this stage, we spend time together. The best stories emerge from brainstorming and exploring ideas with our clients.

First, we talk broadly about strategy:

  • Why do you want a video? Why do you want a video right now?

  • What do you hope to accomplish with video?

  • How does video help you achieve your goals?

  • How does video support the development and marketing strategies of your organization?

  • Who is your target audience?

  • How will your target audiences see the video?

  • What action do you want the viewer to take after viewing the video?

  • What message do you want to stick in the viewer’s brain? What emotion?

Then we'll talk about story:

  • What action is happening right now (or in the next few weeks) that illustrates the work you do? What live action can we capture right now?

  • Who are the unlikely messengers? Who knows this story inside and out, but is not necessarily the first person you might think of to tell it?

  • Let's get back to 9th grade: What's the climax of the story we want to tell? What's the surprise? The unexpected moment?
