ASSIGNMENT: Award Video for Annual Event
Every year, the Oregon Business Association honors an Oregonian who has been a positive influence in their field, and who is able to work with both Democrats and Republicans to make change happen. This year, they selected 11 individuals who have each been an integral part of healthcare reform. The Association called Studio Kate to capture this important moment, and explain the transformation through the eyes of leaders from around the state. This video explains the incredible revolution in healthcare happening in Oregon, and introduces you to the people who are making it happen.
Beaverton School District
OUR DEEP EXPERIENCE WITH EDUCATIONAL ISSUES MEANT WE WERE A PERFECT MATCH WHEN THE STATE’S THIRD LARGEST SCHOOL DISTRICT NEEDED DIGITAL STORIES. THE DISTRICT NEEDED TO CONVEY TO THEIR COMMUNITY THAT, IN SPITE OF ONGOING BUDGET STRAINS, THEY REMAIN COMMITTED TO EXCELLENCE, INNOVATION, EQUITY AND COLLABORATION. INSPIRATION STARTS HERE.
ASSIGNMENT: Awareness Raising Digital Story
We partnered with Lee Weinstein of Weinstein PR to support the Beaverton School District’s work to communicate with its stakeholders. A series of public meetings with hundreds of parents, students, teachers, principals, community members, and business owners revealed that the Beaverton community loves its schools and wants to be informed and connected. With that in mind, we partnered with Weinstein PR and the Beaverton SD to produce a series of six videos to inform the community about the districts strengths and guiding “pillars”: Excellence, Collaboration, Innovation and Equity. Most importantly, the videos invite the community to be part of the conversation and engage with our public schools. The title of the campaign? We. We are all part of the success of our public schools, and the success of our graduates depends upon us all.
Maasai Children's Initiative
EDUCATION IS POWER
STUDIO KATE PARTNERED WITH A U.S.-BASED NONPROFIT, THE MAASAI CHILDREN’S INITIATIVE (MCI), TO TELL THE STORY OF HOW ONE WOMAN IS BRINGING EDUCATION TO GIRLS OF THE MAASAI MARA. THIS VIDEO PROVIDES MCI WITH AN INVALUABLE FUNDRAISING AND AWARENESS-RAISING TOOL; WATCH AND SEE.
ASSIGNMENT: Fundraising Video
As a young girl, Kenyan Sekeyian Yiaile loved education, to the point that she ran away from home to avoid being married at a young age. Today, Sekeyian continues to challenge Maasai cultural norms that, in her opinion, do not allow her community to prosper and thrive. After completing her graduate education, Sekeyian Yiaile has returned to the Maasai Mara to open a boarding school for girls, bringing a precious resource to a community that is just beginning to see the value of educating its daughters. Studio Kate spent three days with Sekeyian and her students at her boarding school in the Maasai Mara in order to bring the images, voices and mission home to the United States to build even more support for this incredible work.
